TKB Monitor
Monitor servers, PCs and your network
Know about it before the phone rings.
TKB Monitor keeps an eye on your Windows and Linux machines and your network devices: services, backups, disks, certificates, UPS, firewall and NAS. When something fails, you get an email right away. With jobs, TKB Monitor also moves files, for example over FTP or SFTP. Everything runs on your own server, with no cloud.
Free for up to 3 devices, with no end date. Licenses for more devices on invoice.
Monitoring in three steps
Install the collector
The collector is the heart of it. It runs on a Windows server or a Linux machine, for example a Raspberry Pi, and shows the dashboard in your browser.
Roll out agents
A small agent runs on every Windows or Linux machine. Copy the ready-made command from the dashboard, also for a silent install on many machines. An install code makes sure only your devices can join.
Add network devices
A UPS, firewall, router, switch, printer or NAS needs no agent. The collector checks them itself with ping or SNMP.
Everything stays in your network. Only three things go out: the emails through your own mail server, the question for the newest version (once a day, can be turned off) and files your jobs deliver to servers you choose.
What TKB Monitor checks for you
Every device reports CPU, RAM and disks automatically. On top of that you set up checks without scripts, with sentences like “Alarm when the newest file is older than 24 hours”.
CPU, RAM & disks
Load on every device, with limits for warning and alarm. Each drive can have its own limits.
Disk forecast
TKB Monitor works out when a drive will be full and warns you while there is still time to clean up.
Services
Check single services, or simply all services that should start automatically. Every new agent brings this check along.
Folders & backups
How old is the newest file, and how many files are in the folder? Also on network shares with their own login.
Websites & APIs
Does the page answer with the right code, fast enough, and does it show the expected text?
Certificates
Counts the days until an SSL certificate expires and tells you in good time.
Ping & open ports
Is a device reachable, is a port like 443 or 3389 open, and how fast is the answer?
Programs
Is a program running, how many copies are running, and how much memory does it use?
Event log Windows
Errors or warnings from a given source or event ID in the last few minutes.
Scheduled tasks Windows
Did the last run fail, or has the task not run for hours?
Pending reboot
Updates waiting for a restart? You see it before it becomes a problem. For Windows and for Debian, Ubuntu and Raspberry Pi OS.
SNMP values
Read any value over SNMP v1, v2c or v3 and compare it with your own limits.
Devices without an agent stay in view too
You can't install software on a UPS, a firewall or a NAS, and you don't need to: the collector checks these devices itself every 30 seconds.
Move files automatically
With jobs, TKB Monitor does recurring file work for you: pick up files, deliver them to up to 5 targets, then leave, delete, move or rename the original. No scripts, with history and alerts.
Copy, move, rename
From folders and network shares, on Windows also with their own login. Year and month folders are created by the job.
FTP, FTPS & SFTP
Pick up and deliver over FTP, encrypted FTPS and SFTP, with a key file if you like. You confirm each server once by its fingerprint.
On a schedule or right away
Every few minutes, hourly, daily, monthly, only by hand, or as soon as a new file arrives.
Names with dates
STOCK_{yyyyMMdd}.csv becomes STOCK_20261015.csv. You pick the name parts from a list with one click.
Safe, not hasty
A test run shows beforehand what would happen. Nothing is overwritten, and a file is only taken once it has been fully written.
History & alerts
Every run is in the history with every file. If something fails, a run finds no files or a run is missed, you get an email.
The stock file has to reach the ERP every morning
Every morning at 6:00 a job picks up stock.csv from your supplier's SFTP server. It puts one copy in the archive and a renamed copy STOCK_20261015.csv in your ERP's import folder. Only when both copies are there does it delete the file at the supplier. If anything goes wrong, you get an email.
What it looks like in practice
The nightly backup didn't run
A folder check looks at the backup folder on the NAS and checks how old the newest file is. If it is older than 24 hours, you get an alarm. You find out by email in the morning, not when you need to restore.
Drive D: is slowly filling up
TKB Monitor compares the fill level over the last few days and works out when the drive will be full. The warning comes while you still have two weeks, not at 99 %.
Power cut in the server room
The UPS is checked over SNMP. When it switches to battery, an alarm goes out at once, so you know how much time is left to shut the servers down cleanly.
The certificate expires soon
The certificate check counts the days until it expires. Below 21 days you get a warning, which leaves enough time to renew it before visitors see an error.
The right message to the right person
- One email instead of a flood. New, still open and fixed problems arrive together in one message.
- Short glitches stay quiet. If a problem is gone again within a few minutes, no email goes out. Checks can also wait for several failures in a row.
- Everyone gets what they need. Per user: only alarms or warnings too, all devices or one group, language, weekdays and hours. Important groups can still get through at night.
- Reminder and all-clear. If you like, TKB Monitor reminds you while a problem is still open and tells you when it is fixed.
- In the dashboard. The bell shows the alerts of the last 7 days. Acknowledge known problems with one click.
- Your own mail server. Sent over SMTP from your own mailbox.
Made for small teams, not for specialists
Groups & limits
Set limits once for everything, then adjust them per group, device or drive. The archive drive may be fuller than the system drive.
Users & roles
Admins set things up, viewers only watch. Ideal for colleagues, management or a screen in the office.
Quick rollout
Copy ready-made install commands for Windows and Linux and run them silently on many machines, e.g. through your software deployment.
One-click updates
When a new agent version is available, the dashboard shows “Update to …”. One click per device or for all of them, and the agent updates itself. The dashboard also tells you when a new version of TKB Monitor is out.
The dashboard and emails come in four languages. Every user sees their own language, in emails too. History goes from 1 hour to 30 days.
Runs where your IT runs
Collector
Runs as a service, and you open the dashboard in your browser over HTTPS. Set up with an installer on Windows and with an install script on Linux.
Agents
Small, run as a service and report every 60 seconds. They come straight from your collector, so there is no separate download.
Your data stays in your network
TKB Monitor runs entirely on your own server. Measurements, device names and credentials are never sent to TKB IT Support or any cloud. Even the license is a signed file that is checked offline. Only the update check asks once a day which version is the newest. It sends nothing about you or your devices, and you can turn it off.
Briefly explained
What does TKB Monitor cost?
You can monitor up to 3 devices for free, with no end date. For more devices there are licenses by number of devices, and every feature is always included. You'll find the prices on the price page.
What counts as a device?
Every machine with an agent and every network device without one, for example a UPS, a firewall or a printer. How many checks you set up on a device doesn't matter.
Do jobs cost extra?
No. Jobs are part of every license and of free use, with no limit on the number of jobs. They only run on servers where you allow them during installation.
Is any data sent to TKB IT Support?
No. Measurements, devices and credentials stay on your collector in your network, and the license is checked offline. Only the update check asks us once a day which version is the newest. It sends nothing about you or your devices, and you can turn it off in the dashboard.
Does TKB Monitor need an internet connection?
Not for monitoring. The agents only talk to your collector. For emails the collector needs access to your mail server, and websites or FTP servers on the internet can of course only be checked or used when they are reachable. The update check needs internet access; without it everything else keeps running, and you see new versions in your customer account.
What happens when the license expires?
Monitoring and emails keep running. Devices, checks and settings can only be changed again once a new license is uploaded. Jobs keep running for 7 more days, then they pause. Before that, TKB Monitor shows a notice in the dashboard and reminds the admins by email 30, 14 and 1 day before it expires.
How long is the data kept?
30 days. In the dashboard you choose the history for 1 hour, 4 hours, 24 hours, 7 days or 30 days.
Can I use a Raspberry Pi as the collector?
Yes. The collector runs on Linux on x64, ARM64 and ARM, so for example on a Raspberry Pi 4 or 5.
How do I buy a license?
On invoice, with the order buttons on the price page. The order is an email to us with the package, the term and your installation ID, which you'll find in the dashboard under License. We'll send you the invoice and your license file by email.
